Delacorte Press to Publish First-Ever English Translation of the Third Book in Eiko Kadono's Internationally Acclaimed KiKi's Delivery Service Series
The internationally acclaimed Kiki’s Delivery Service series featuring one of fantasy‘s most beloved heroine continues with new English-language editions, with the third installment, KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH set for publication in February 2027.
This marks the first time this book is available in North America, and follows Kiki and the New Magic, releasing in English for the first time this month.
Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish the novel on February 23, 2027. The announcement was made by Wendy Loggia, VP & Publisher, Delacorte Press. Ali Romig, Editor, Delacorte Press, acquired World English rights from Hillary Jacobson at Creative Arts Agency on behalf of Hamish Macaskill at The English Agency (Japan) Ltd. Today’s announcement also includes the first reveal of the novel’s cover.
Originally published in Japan in 1985, Kiki’s Delivery Service inspired the beloved 1989 Studio Ghibli animated film and has captivated generations of readers and moviegoers around the world. In the United States, Kiki has become far more than a beloved character—she is a cultural icon whose story has been embraced by a devoted, multigenerational fan base for decades. More than forty years after Kiki first took flight in Japan, KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH delivers the long-awaited next chapter in Kiki’s story with a magical new adventure filled with bravery, friendship, and self-discovery.
In this highly anticipated third installment, KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH, sixteen-year-old Kiki meets twelve-year-old Keke, a free-spirited girl with unexpected powers who throws Kiki’s world into chaos. As Keke challenges Kiki’s sense of identity as a witch, Kiki embarks on a new journey of self-discovery, uncovering the true essence of her powers and what matters most. Full of warmth, wonder, and gentle humor, the novel explores growing up, finding confidence in yourself, and embracing change while staying true to who you are.

KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH will be translated by Emily Balistrieri and feature illustrations by Yuta Onoda. The collectible hardcover edition will feature printed endpapers, sprayed edges, and a foil case stamp.
The publication of KIKI AND THE OTHER WITCH follows the August 25, 2026, release of Kiki and the New Magic, the long-awaited second novel in the series and its first-ever English-language edition, alongside the new Kiki’s Delivery Service Deluxe Edition.
An audiobook edition will be released simultaneously by Listening Library.
