KBFYR Author/Illustrator Doug Salati Shares HOT DOG With Virtual Story Time Saturday Morning
Attention colleagues with young children: author/illustrator Doug Salati presents his debut picture book, HOT DOG (Knopf Books for Young Readers), with a virtual Storytime Live event hosted by Greenlight Bookstore (Brooklyn, NY) on Saturday, May 28 at 11:30 am (ET). To register, click here.
HOT DOG is a sweet tale about an overheated and overwhelmed pup in the city who finds his calm with some sea, sand, and fresh air. With fluid art and lyrical text, Salati shows young readers how to find calm and carry it back with us so that we can appreciate the small joys in a day. This virtual event will feature a special reading and drawing activity, as well as a Q&A.
Doug Salati is the illustrator of Tomie dePaola’s In a Small Kingdom, as well as Matthew Farina’s Lawrence in the Fall, an Ezra Jack Keats Honor Book, which the Wall Street Journal described as a “handsome excursion.” Salati graduated from the Illustration as Visual Essay masters program at the School of Visual Arts in 2014 and was a 2015 Sendak Fellow. His illustration work has been recognized by 3×3 Illustration, American Illustration, and the Society of Illustrators.
