Amanda Gorman, presidential inaugural poet and #1 New York Times bestselling author will partner with Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King Honor winner Christian Robinson to deliver a stunning new children’s picture book, SOMETHING, SOMEDAY (Viking Children’s Books).
Scheduled for publication September 26, 2023 with Viking Children’s Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, SOMETHING, SOMEDAY pairs Gorman’s inspiring text with Robinson’s iconic art to deliver a timeless message of hope.
Sometimes the world feels broken. And problems seem too big to fix. But somehow, we all have the power to make a difference. With a little faith, and maybe the help of a friend, together we can find beauty and create change.
“I wrote SOMETHING, SOMEDAY to show that though it might be difficult, when we work together, even the smallest acts of kindness can lead to the largest positive change,” said Amanda Gorman. “I’ve long admired Christian’s art and having the opportunity to collaborate with him has been a dream come true. I hope that readers find joy and inspiration in SOMETHING, SOMEDAY and I can’t wait for it to be out in the world.”
Tamar Brazis, Vice President and Publisher, Viking Children’s Books, added, “Amanda’s intimate text and Christian’s thoughtful illustrations demonstrate how young readers can make a lasting impact in their communities with even the smallest gesture. The collaboration between these two innovative creators is a true publishing event.”
