Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Manuel Sansigre is named Chief Financial Officer, Penguin Random House, effective January 1, 2024, reporting to me.

In his latest role, Manuel was Deputy Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Global Mergers and Acquisitions, which he will still lead along with his new responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer managing our key operational financial processes, including reporting, planning, and analysis.

Manuel Sansigre

Manuel joined Penguin Random House eight years ago, and since then he has been instrumental in driving more than thirty investments in both publishing houses and intellectual property assets around the world, partnering with owners and entrepreneurs using a variety of financial approaches to get the best deal outcomes for all stakeholders. Together with his team, he will continue to expand on strategic and innovative ways to partner with publishing entrepreneurs to align our long-term interests with theirs during the mergers and acquisitions process. As I have previously shared, we will continue to selectively acquire small- and medium-sized companies and intellectual property that complement our existing portfolio and support our growth ambitions.

In recent years, Manuel has also been at the forefront of driving more sophisticated financial reporting processes to help us steer the business better. Manuel will continue this work to further develop our global financial analytics tools and capabilities to support our regional and divisional Finance teams, and their publishers and imprints, with more useful data and analysis for effective decision-making.

As CFO, Manuel will bring the same energy and expertise that he drew on for our M&A projects to our organic business. On a personal note, I’ve been closely collaborating with Manuel for many years, and I’m looking forward to further drawing on his expertise as he continues to be a member of both the U.S. Lead Team and the Penguin Random House Global Executive Committee. I have no doubt that Manuel and his team will continue to expand on the collaborative style of working with the publishing divisions and various global businesses that has been our hallmark.

Please join me in congratulating Manuel on his promotion and wishing him the very best in this new role.

Thank you,

Nihar Malaviya
Chief Executive Officer
Penguin Random House
