It’s officially a Guiness World Record for books signed in a day!

At 5:30 a.m. in Madrid, at the Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial office, Eloy Moreno set out to defeat the previous Guinness World Record for books signed in a single day, which had previously been 6,904 copies. Moreno, an acclaimed author, has a varied audience that ranges from children to teenagers to adults and his fans traveled from far destinations for this once in a lifetime opportunity in Madrid.

By the end of the day Moreno had signed 11,088 books!

The Sales team was instrumental in preparing all the books to create a seamless and dynamic signing. At 6:00 a.m. the signing kicked off at the PRHGE offices without readers. In the first two hours, Moreno signed 4,000 copies. Moreno then continued signing in the Madrid city center with fans present, some having taken a plane to arrive from the Canary Islands. In a live broadcast, enthused readers tuned in from Australia, Argentina, Chile, Germany Mexico, the United States, and more. By 12:45 p.m., the previous world record had been broken and by the end of the day, he had signed 11,088 books!

Most of audience in attendance were teenagers!

Most remarkable is that most of Moreno’s audience in attendance were teenagers. The immense success of his publications REDES and INVISIBLE contributed to the fanfare around this event. INVISIBLE is soon to be a Disney+ series premiering this December. For an author whose themes touch upon bullying and adolescence, this was a meaningful day.
