John Mark Comer's PRACTICING THE WAY Awarded ECPA Christian Book of the Year®
At the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) Leadership Summit in Nashville, Tennessee, the ECPA announced the 13 winners of the 2025 Christian Book Award® program. Presented annually since 1978, the award program honors the “best of the year” in Christian literature.
John Mark Comer‘s PRACTICING THE WAY (WaterBrook) was awarded Christian Book of the Year®. Given to one title each year, the Christian Book of the Year® represents the year’s best book for its literary merit and extraordinary impact.
PRACTICING THE WAY by teaching pastor and bestselling author John Mark Comer has made 23 appearances on the New York Times Best Sellers List, including four weeks in 2025, and continues to appear monthly since its release on ECPA’s Top 50 Bestseller List.
The book grew out of a five-year spiritual formation initiative at Bridgetown Church in Portland, where Comer served as founding pastor, to organize community around the simple idea: practicing the Way of Jesus together.
“I’ve heard from countless people about how meaningful and life-changing PRACTICING THE WAY has been in their lives,” said Campbell Wharton, SVP & Publisher, PRH Christian Publishing Group. “This book is having a profound impact on readers. It’s a remarkable honor for the PRH Christian team to have this important work recognized and to get to steward this publication for years to come.”
