Colleagues Give Back: Our Community Day of Service

volunteer day tnailMore than 400 Penguin Random House volunteers mobilized with energy, pride and purpose when participating in our first-ever Community Day of Service on January 13, concluding our Company Week activities. Markus Dohle had this to say about giving back in his blog post last month: “One of the beliefs that binds us together is our commitment to making a difference beyond the books … I think this is the perfect conclusion to a week when we will celebrate all the originality, talent, and ambition that sets us apart.”

Our colleagues took Markus’ words to heart as they donated their time and support to company-sponsored volunteer events at such organizations as The Book Fairies, CAMBA, Food Bank NYC, Good + Foundation, Henry Street Settlement, The HOPE Program, Housing+Solutions, Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, New York Common Pantry, Read Ahead, QSAC: Quality Services for the Autism Community, South Bronx Educational Foundation, Toni’s Kitchen and WHEDco.  A number of employees also volunteered at other organizations such as Behind the Book, Gay Men’s Health Crisis, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center and Hunger Free America.

Here is a selection of social media posts (#TeamPRH) illustrating our colleagues in action.  To view a gallery of Community Day photos, click here.
