Penguin Random House’s partnership with AFROPUNK includes a 10-week Rock ‘n’ Read Book Club Instagram Live interview series hosted by AFROPUNK, exploring topics around storytelling, identity and the creative process with Penguin Random House authors. Karla Cornejo-Villavicencio, author of THE UNDOCUMENTED AMERICANS (One World) will be in conversation with Chris Jackson, Editor-in-Chief, One World, via Instagram Live on Wednesday, July 8 at 5:00pm (ET). The Bookstore partner for this event is The Lit. Bar.
Villavicencio, one of the first undocumented immigrants to graduate from Harvard, reveals the hidden lives of her fellow undocumented Americans in a deeply personal and groundbreaking portrait of a nation. She has also written about immigration, music, beauty, and mental illness for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New Republic, Glamour, Elle, Vogue, n+1, and The New Inquiry, among others. She lives in New Haven with her partner and their dog.
