Celebrating PRH Excellence at the 2025 Publishing Triangle Awards

Share:

We’re thrilled to share that several Penguin Random House titles have been named finalists for the 37th Annual Publishing Triangle Awards — an event dedicated to honoring the best in LGBTQ+ literature.

With ten competitive categories and over forty finalists announced, this year’s awards spotlight both emerging voices and established icons across the literary spectrum.

Among the finalists are four standout Penguin Random House titles:

Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBTQ Fiction
CINEMA LOVE by Jiaming Tang (Dutton)
CURIOSITIES by Anne Fleming (Knopf)

Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction
CINEMA LOVE by Jiaming Tang (Dutton)
A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE by Asha Thanki (Viking)

Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry
YOUR DAZZLING DEATH by Cass Donish (Knopf)

Adding to the celebration, our colleague Emanuel Xavier (Berger), of the Special Markets team, will be returning to host the awards ceremony—his third time gracing the stage. Emanuel, a poet and activist in his own right, brings deep passion and poise to this event, which honors and uplifts the work of LGBTQ+ authors.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 PM, at The New School (66 West 12th Street, NYC), and will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. A reception will follow, and both events are free and open to the public.

This year’s presenters include a vibrant mix of literary voices: Jewelle Gomez, Cheryl Boyce-Taylor, Matt Brim, Eileen Myles, with special video appearances from Jacqueline Woodson and Justin Torres.

In addition to celebrating new talent, the ceremony will also honor the memory of LGBTQ+ literary pioneers lost over the past year, including Dorothy Allison, recipient of the 2024 Bill Whitehead Lifetime Achievement Award, and Felice Picano, the 1996 winner of the Ferro-Grumley Award for Literary Excellence.

Please join us in congratulating our authors and cheering on our colleagues as we continue to champion stories that reflect the richness and diversity of the LGBTQ+ experience.
