Dutton Author Richard M. Cohen Passes Away After Living With MS for More Than 50 Years
Richard M. Cohen, veteran journalist and author of CHASING HOPE (Blue Rider Press then Dutton), the memoir BLINDSIDED, and several other books, has passed away at the age of 76.
Cohen lived with multiple sclerosis for more than 50 years and was a cancer survivor. He wrote about his health in his books and was a passionate advocate for people living with chronic illness.
Cohen’s distinguished career in network news earned him numerous awards including three Emmy’s and a Peabody. He is survived by his wife, fellow journalist Meredith Viera. They were married for 38 years and have three children.
