Evans, Offill, Strauss Finalists for the 2021 Joyce Carol Oates Prize
The four finalists for the 2021 Joyce Carol Oates Prize, an award that honors a distinguished mid-career author of fiction, have been announced and include three books published by Penguin Random House imprints. The $50,000 prize, which is sponsored by the Simpson Literary Project, has been bestowed annually since 2017.
Our finalists:
- THE OFFICE OF HISTORICAL CORRECTIONS: A Novella and Stories by Danielle Evans (Riverhead Books)
- WEATHER by Jenny Offill (Knopf)
- THE QUEEN OF TUESDAY by Darin Strauss (Random House)

Joyce Carol Oates will join the finalists for a virtual event on Tuesday, March 30. The prize winner is expected to be named in late April.
