Random House Virtual Events presents “Inside the House” with Ballantine Executive Editor Sara Weiss on “Authors with Fresh Voices,” including Linda Holmes (EVVIE DRAKE STARTS OVER), R. Eric Thomas (HERE FOR IT), and Kyle McCarthy (EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU) via Instagram on Wednesday, June 3 at 12:30pm (ET).

Holmes’ EVVIE DRAKE STARTS OVER, a New York Times bestseller and #ReadWithJenna Book Club Pick as Featured on Today, is a heartfelt debut novel about the unlikely relationship between a young woman who’s lost her husband and a major league pitcher who’s lost his game. Ms. Holmes is a pop culture correspondent for National Public Radio and the host of the podcast Pop Culture Happy Hour, which has also held sold-out live shows in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, and elsewhere.

Thomas’ HERE FOR IT is a hilarious memoir-in-essays about growing up seeing the world differently, finding unexpected hope, and experiencing every awkward, extraordinary stumble along the way. Mr. Thomas is a senior staff writer at Elle online where he has written the daily pop culture and politics humor column “Eric Reads the News” since 2016. His writing for the theater has been seen on stages around the country.

McCarthy’s EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU is a propulsive debut novel about the dark side of female friendship, as old habits give way to obsession and betrayal when a young woman reconnects with her estranged childhood best friend. Ms. McCarthy is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her fiction has appeared in The Best American Short Stories, American Short Fiction, and the Harvard Review, and she has received support and grants from the Edward F. Albee Foundation, the Lighthouse Works, and the Elizabeth George Foundation.
