Jen Loja, President & Publisher, Penguin Young Readers, Named a 2019 Save the Children “Changemaker for Children”
In recognition of her commitment to making children’s books available for children in need, Save the Children, a global humanitarian organization celebrating its 100th year, has named Jen Loja, President & Publisher, Penguin Young Readers, a 2019 “Changemaker for Children.”
“Under the leadership of President Jen Loja, Penguin Young Readers inspires new ways of thinking and transports young readers to faraway places,” said Daisy Kline, Director, Cause Marketing & Employee Engagement, Corporate Partnerships. “Through our partnership with Penguin Random House, we are able to bring books to thousands of young readers in need – helping them to develop strong literacy skills and discover the joy of reading that only comes with access to books. We are proud to honor Jen as a ‘Changemaker for Children’!”
“All of us at Penguin Random House and Penguin Young Readers are proud to work alongside Save the Children to provide children around the world access to books,” said Jen Loja. “Reading is fundamental to education, and we believe every child deserves books, and deserves to see themselves in books. We are also committed to distributing books to as many communities as possible, through a wide variety of retailers, libraries, classrooms and literary organizations. And we are determined to impact the book deserts we see in the U.S., places where kids have no bookstores or libraries.”
