Add to your summer stack! Random House Summer Reads will introduce you to more books you won’t be able to put down—featuring the authors who wrote them—via Zoom on Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00pm (ET).
This installment of the RH Summer Reader series features authors Kate Stayman-London (ONE TO WATCH) , Victor LaValle (THE CHANGELING), Diksha Basu (DESTINATION WEDDING), and Lauren Wilkinson (AMERICAN SPY), in conversation with Grace Atwood. These authors have mastered the romantic comedy, the parenthood horror novel, and the espionage thriller.
Kate Stayman-London is a novelist, screenwriter, and political strategist. She served as lead digital writer for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and has written for notable figures ranging from President Obama and Malala Yousafzai to Anna Wintour and Cher. When not writing or traveling, Kate can be found obsessively ranking Taylor Swift songs, laughing loudly with friends over really good bottles of wine, and of course, watching reality TV. She lives in Los Angeles.
Victor LaValle is the author of six previous works of fiction: three novels, two novellas, and a collection of short stories. His novels have been included in best-of-the-year lists by The New York Times Book Review, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, The Nation, and Publishers Weekly, among others. He has been the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, an American Book Award, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the Key to Southeast Queens. He lives in New York City with his wife and kids and teaches at Columbia University.
Diksha Basu is the author of Destination Wedding and The Windfall. Originally from New Delhi, India, she now divides her time between New York City and Mumbai.
Lauren Wilkinson earned an MFA in fiction and literary translation from Columbia University, and has taught writing at Columbia and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She was a 2013 Center for Fiction Emerging Writers Fellow, and has also received support from the MacDowell Colony and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Wilkinson grew up in New York and lives on the Lower East Side.
