The National Book Foundation announced its 5 Under 35 honorees for 2022, with Knopf author Clare Sestanovich among the chosen writers under the age of 35 whose work “promises to leave a lasting impression on the literary landscape.” Congratulations to Ms. Sestanovich. Her debut story collection, OBJECTS OF DESIRE: Stories, published in 2021, was a finalist for the 2022 PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize.

Each 5 Under 35 honoree receives a $1,000 prize sponsored by the Amazon Literary Partnership and was selected by a National Book Award Winner, Finalist, or Longlisted author, or by an author previously recognized by the 5 Under 35 program. Ms. Sestanovich was chosen by Anthony Doerr, a National Book Award Finalist for Fiction in 2014 and 2021. In June, both the 2022 and 2021 honorees will be celebrated at an exclusive ceremony in Manhattan.
