The Penguin Random House grand, long tradition of publishing Nobel Prize laureates is continuing this year with Sir Roger Penrose, the co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics for his pathfinding studies of the universe’s black holes.

Sir Roger is a Knopf hardcover and e-book and Vintage paperback author in the U.S. Penguin Random House Canada distributes the U.K, editions of his books, which are published by Penguin UK and Vintage UK.

These books are “The Road to Reality: A Complete Guide to the Laws of the Universe” (2007); “Cycles of Time: An Extraordinary New View of the Universe” (2011); and “Shadows of the Mind,” which Penguin UK published in 1995.

His work-in-progress, “Eschermatics,” is expected later this decade.

Penrose also collaborated on “Weisser Mars” (“White Mars”) by Brian W. Aldiss, which Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe’s Heyne imprint published in July.

Jonathan Segal is Penrose’s U.S. editor. “Sir Roger is an extraordinary man,” he says, “who made us see Einstein’s work in a whole new way. It is wonderful that his books backlist, so that he can be discovered by generation after generation.”

Congratulations to our author, his editor, and our Knopf and Vintage colleagues.

Current and past Penguin Random House imprints, here and internationally, have published more than eighty Nobel Prize winners over the decades in the Literature, Peace, Economics, and Sciences categories—a source of great pride for all of us.
