Chris Bohjalian will read from and discuss his novel, THE RED LOTUS (Doubleday), in conversation with Rebecca Makkai, author of THE GREAT BELIEVERS (Viking/Penguin), at a Northshire Live ticketed virtual event via Zoom on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:00pm (ET).
THE RED LOTUS is a twisting story of love and deceit: an American man vanishes on a rural road in Vietnam, and his girlfriend, an emergency room doctor trained to ask questions, follows a path that leads her home to the very hospital where they met.
Bohjalian is the #1 New York Times best-selling author of twenty-one books, including The Red Lotus, Midwives, and The Flight Attendant, which will be an HBO Max limited series starring Kaley Cuoco.
Makkai is the Chicago-based author of the story collection Music for Wartime, as well as the novels The Great Believers (a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award), The Hundred-Year House (a BookPage “Best Book” of 2014 and winner of the Chicago Writers Association Award) and The Borrower (a Booklist Top Ten Debut).
