One World Ideas x Action is hosting a virtual authorless book club to discuss Alicia Garza’s THE PURPOSE OF POWER: How We Come Together When We Fall Apart (One World), led by One World’s publisher Chris Jackson and executive editor Elizabeth Méndez Berry, via Zoom on Thursday, November 19 at 8:00 PM ET. (Please note the author will not be present: This book club is a forum for discussion among readers.)

An essential guide to building transformative movements, THE PURPOSE OF POWER is both a memoir and playbook for change by one of the country’s leading organizers and a co-creator of Black Lives Matter.

The One World Ideas x Action Book Club asks readers to reflect on how we can transform the spirit and ideals of these texts into actionable change in the real world. This is an opportunity for readers to come together and discuss Alicia Garza’s book and their thoughts on new paradigms for change—and how we can activate more people to fight for the world we all deserve. If you have not had the time to finish The Purpose of Power, we recommend watching our Ideas x Action event with Alicia Garza and Chris Jackson.

Special thanks to The Marguerite Casey Foundation, which generously provided free copies to those who requested one.
