This week, we’re looking forward to…
Cambridge, Massachusetts | In-Person | Monday, July 22: Juliet Grames will be making an appearance at Harvard Book Store to discuss her book, THE LOST BOY OF SANTA CHIONIA, with Marjan Kamali. One unidentified skeleton. Three missing men. A village full of secrets. The best-selling author of THE SEVEN OR EIGHT DEATHS OF STELLA FORTUNA brings us a sparkling—by turns funny and moving—novel about a young American woman turned amateur detective in a small village in Southern Italy. Orinda, California | Virtual | Tuesday, July 23: The author of SHAKESPEARE’S SISTERS, Ramie Targoff, will be attending a free virtual event where she will be in discussion with Philippa Kelly of Cal Shakes. This remarkable work about women writers in the English Renaissance explodes our notion of the Shakespearean period by drawing us into the lives of four women who were committed to their craft long before anyone ever imagined the possibility of “a room of one’s own.” To learn more about the featured guests and to reserve your spot for the event, click here.
West Hollywood, California | In-Person | Wednesday, July 24: Book Soup has invited Shalom Auslander to talk about his latest book, FEH. Signed copies of the memoir will be provided to guests who attend the event and can be ordered online for those who cannot. From the acclaimed author of FORESKIN’S LAMENT, a memoir of the author’s attempt to escape the biblical story he’d been raised on and his struggle to construct a new story for himself and his family. Asheville, North Carolina | Virtual | Thursday, July 25: Malaprop’s Bookstore will be hosting a free event that will feature Rob Renzetti, author of THE TWISTER TOWER OF ENDLESS TORMENT, and Moss Lawton, author, comic creator and storyboard artist. From the creator of My Life As a Teenage Robot [Rob Renzetti] comes the second story in a middle-grade horror series about a horrible bag, the spine-chilling world hidden within it, and a terrifying adventure into the world of GrahBhag. Perfect for fans of Coraline, the Spiderwick Chronicles, and Small Spaces. To register for the event and to learn more about the attendees, click here.
Syracuse, New York | In-Person | Friday, July 26: Rochelle Bilow will be signing copies of her book, EFFIE OLSEN’S SUMMER SPECIAL, at Onondaga Free Library. These childhood best friends swore they’d never speak again. But a surprise summer reunion changes everything when it gives them the chance to turn up the heat. Bridgehampton, New York | In-Person | Saturday, July 27: Kathleen King will be making an appearance at Barnes & Noble Bridgehampton to read her book, COOKIE QUEEN. Original cookie recipe included! For more information on the author and the event, click here.
