With 250,000 attendees, New York Comic-Con, October 4-7, was the biggest it’s ever been and continues to grow. Penguin Random House had a successful year with strong sales and appearances by many of our talented authors and illustrators. With events taking place at the Javits Center, Shop Studios, and Hammerstein Ballroom, this year’s show was packed with exciting programming.

Random House Graphic, a brand-new graphic novel imprint from Random House Children’s Books, featured a variety of hands-on comics-related activities for kids. Over at Del Rey, fans could snap a picture of Mike’s bike from Stranger Things, meet Star Wars author Delilah S. Dawson, and get the latest news about George R.R. Martin. Comic book artist Alex Ross made his first ever New York Comic-Con appearance driving awareness for MARVELOCITY: The Marvel Comics Art of Alex Ross. Co-written and designed by Chip Kidd, this beautiful collection features hundreds of never-before-published drawings, paintings, and photographs.

Fans lined up to meet authors such as Pierce Brown (DARK AGE: Book 5 of the Red Rising Saga), Max Brallier (THE LAST KIDS ON EARTH), Edgar Cantero (MEDDLING KIDS), Deborah Harkness (TIME’S CONVERT), Diana Gabaldon (OUTLANDER), Ryan North (HOW TO INVENT EVERYTHING), Patrick Rothfuss (THE NAME OF THE WIND), Astride Scholte (FOUR DEAD QUEENS), Andy Weir (ARTEMIS), and more. Our authors could also be spotted on a number of panels throughout the show and at special events.

Lucky attendees were able to get Marlon James’s upcoming release BLACK LEOPARD, RED WOLF, along with other Advance Reader Copies. They could also test their Star Wars and Harry Potter knowledge at the Audio Books booth, as well as their Nickelodeon knowledge over at DK.

Penguin Random House shared the floor with a number of its PRHPS Client Publishers, including Nobrow, which had Luke Pearson, creator of the HILDA children’s graphic novel series, signing books for a long line of fans.

With not-to-be-missed author appearances, mystery boxes, “Fight Evil Read Books” t-shirts, advance readers copy giveaways, and much more, Penguin Random House was a destination on the show floor.
