For the past several years, Penguin Random House has donated to Jr Iron Chef Vermont, and we are excited to continue this partnership and share that we have donated nearly 200 books this year! By donating cookbooks to the organization, we are equipping these students with some of the tools they need to further develop their culinary skills.

Jr Iron Chef VT is a statewide, non-profit career exploration program and competition that teaches communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills by empowering Vermont youth to create locally sourced meals that promote Vermont’s Farm to School efforts.

This program has created a space for students to learn more about creating and preparing recipes, overall nutrition and local agriculture. Through Jr Iron Chef VT, participants are able to establish relationships with peers, chefs, mentors, and local farmers. This year, they are celebrating their 15th year, as well as all the students who have participated in this culinary program.

Looks delicious!

We are happy to share that we have been able to donate multiple copies of TASTY ULTIMATE, WHERE COOKING BEGINS, TASTY DESSERT, HALF BAKED HARVEST SUPER SIMPLE, JUBILEE, DINNER IN ONE, MASTER CHEF JUNIOR, and THE COOK YOU WANT TO BE.

A huge thank you to Crown for the generous donation that made this initiative possible!
