PRH Promotes Literary Freedom at No Book Bans on Broadway
On April 14, Penguin Random House was honored to collaborate with various publishers and organizations for the No Book Bans on Broadway event.
This event was held to promote access to all kinds of stories and took place during the opening night of the play JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN at the Booth Theatre. The play, which is a contemporary reimagining of Arthur Miller’s THE CRUCIBLE, explores themes of power, gender, and the impact of historical narratives on modern society.
The No Book Bans on Broadway event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of free access to literature and the dangers of censorship.
As part of the event, PRH participated by donating banned books, which were given out for free to attendees of the show.
This gesture underscored PRH’s commitment to promoting the freedom of read and ensuring that readers have access to a wide range of stories and viewpoints.
