Last Sunday night’s “Game of Thrones” series finale on HBO drew a staggering 19.3 million viewers. The conclusion to the cultural phenomenon that began 8 years ago had mixed reviews. So mixed, in fact, that a petition demanding a rewrite of the last season has garnered more than 1 million signatures as of this post. The show is unique in that it ended before the book series has. The Winds of Winter, the sixth book in what Martin hopes will be a seven-book series, still has yet to be published.
