The Book Industry Guild of New York (BIGNY) will present “Nurturing Readership: How Libraries Work with Publishers for Reading Inclusivity,” a virtual conversation detailing the important roles libraries have played in providing accessibility, literacy and, in current times, how they will continue to nurture readership, tonight at 6:00 pm via Zoom.

Throughout the course of the conversation, panelists will uncover what new public access initiatives will be implemented, how libraries have built a relationship with publishers to bring inclusivity to reading, and, of course, what hidden gems are on everyone’s summer reading list.

“Nurturing Readership: How Libraries Work with Publishers for Reading Inclusivity” panelists include Melissa Cardinali, librarian, literacy teacher at NYC Department of Education; Hannah Ehrlich, marketing and publicity director at Lee & Low Books; Julie Leung, market director at Del Ray Books; and Shelley Diaz Vale, reviews editor at School Library Journal. The panel will be moderated by Alessandra Affinito, children’s librarian at New York Public Library.

The program will be held via Zoom at 6:00 pm and will be preceded by the pre-panel social (also via Zoom) from 5:15 pm to 5:50 pm. Admission is a donation of your choosing. Guest capacity will also be limited.
