Soon to be a major motion picture: THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR, the #1 New York Times bestseller and National Book Award Finalist from Delacorte Press author Nicola Yoon, also the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING. THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR hits theaters nationwide on May 17. Warner Brothers Pictures released the film’s first trailer this week. The paperback movie tie-in edition of THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR goes on sale April 16, and will feature key movie cover art as well as a photo insert.

A 24-hour romance set and filmed in New York City, THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR explores the science and big history of love, immigration and immigrant rights. The story revolves around two teens: Daniel (Charles Melton), the son of Korean shopkeepers, and Natasha (Yara Shahidi), whose family is here illegally from Jamaica. They cross paths in NYC on an eventful day in their lives—Daniel is on his way to an interview with a Yale alum, Natasha is meeting with a lawyer to try and prevent her family’s deportation to Jamaica. They have a single day to fall in love.
