Weekend Reads: Aliens!

Do you have aliens on the brain? They sure do in entertainment and news media! This summer, during a meeting of the House subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, several military officers testified that unidentified UFOs pose a threat to national security (U.S. News and World Report). In fact, most UFO sightings are debunked as tricks of light, weather balloons, etc… What we would never debunk is how fascinating it is to contemplate the possibility of life on other planets. PRH Audio Partners with Teatro SEA to Publish 9 Bilingual Children’s Audiobooks

Just last week, Penguin Random House Audio announced the exciting news that it will partner with Teatro SEA, the premiere Latino children’s theatre in the United States, to publish a collection of nine bilingual children’s audiobooks in Spanish and English this fall.

Weekend Reads: Summer Mysteries & Thrillers

This installment of Weekend Reads is brought to you by Chelsea Kaneshiro, Corporate Communications Intern.

When you think of a summer book, what comes to mind? Chances are it isn’t a mystery or thriller, but this week’s list of titles could surprise you. These novels effortlessly combine a wicked sense of humor with a thrilling plot making for refreshing poolside reads.

One of my all-time favorite books is Jesse Q. Sutanto’s DIAL A FOR AUNTIES (Berkley), which was the inspiration behind this theme. The genius storyline is a rom com meets murder and hits home for anyone with nosy family members. I think this genre has become so much more than dark suspense, but full of well-rounded stories that are beautifully written and even… funny.

50 Years of FEAR OF FLYING, the Groundbreaking Publication

On December 5, 2023, Berkley will publish a new trade paperback edition of Erica Jong’s groundbreaking debut novel FEAR OF FLYING to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the book’s original publication in 1973. The 50th Anniversary Edition will include a new cover look designed by Lynn Buckley with art direction from Kaitlin Kall, an introduction by writer Taffy Brodesser-Akner, and a foreword by the author’s daughter Molly Jong-Fast.
