First-Ever DR. SEUSS Graphic Novels to Launch in Spring 2024

In 2024, Random House Graphic, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, together with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, will publish the first-ever line of graphic novels starring classic Dr. Seuss characters in all-new stories. The inaugural Dr. Seuss graphic novel program list features three chapter book series penned by premier comic book creators, each starring an iconic Dr. Seuss character—the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, and Sam-I-Am—in brand-new adventures.

Penguin Random House Joins Spotify in Bringing Audiobooks to Premium Subscribers

Following the launch of their initial audiobook offering in 2022, Spotify is expanding access to more than 150,000 audiobooks on its platform, and Penguin Random House is excited to have our titles included in the Premium catalog. Starting in the UK and Australia today (October 3), and following in the US in a few weeks, audiobooks will be available as part of Spotify’s Premium paid subscription, giving subscribers the ability to listen to up to 15 hours of audiobooks each month. Additional English-language territories, including Canada, Ireland and New Zealand, will follow in early 2024. Similar to the token model, where members receive one credit for an audiobook, Spotify’s Premium paid subscribers in these territories will have access to listen to up to 15 hours of audiobooks each month, with the option to “top up” by purchasing additional hours. Titles will also continue to be available for purchase on an a la carte basis to Spotify’s non-paying subscribers. We’re thrilled by this exciting opportunity to bring our authors’ works—and voices—to Spotify’s 220 million paid subscribers.

Crown Author Katalin Karikó Awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Long before the search for a COVID-19 vaccine, the visionary, Hungarian-born biochemist Katalin Karikó knew that an ephemeral and underappreciated molecule called messenger RNA could change the world. Karikó worked for more than three decades at her lab bench, in the single-minded pursuit of a breakthrough that would confirm her hunch: that mRNA could transform ordinary cells into tiny factories capable of producing their own medicines on demand. Hearty congratulations to our Booker Prize shortlisters, published by our UK and Canada sister imprints. The 2023 autumn literary awards carousel took five of our authors for another rings-grabbing spin, on September 21, with the presentation in London of the judges’ selection of the six shortlisted titles, chosen from the long list of thirteen, contending for this year’s Booker Prize.
