Spotlighting Our Titles on Amazon’s Best Children’s Books of 2025

Penguin Young Readers and Random House Children’s Books are thrilled to celebrate their incredible achievement of having over 20 titles featured on the must-read Amazon Best Children’s Books of 2025 list. Three of Penguin Young Readers’ titles were recognized with spots in the coveted Children’s Top 20 list.

Spotlighting Our Titles on Amazon’s Best Books of 2025

Amazon recently released its Best Books of 2025 list, compiled by the Amazon Editors after spending thousands of hours reading and evaluating an impressive range of new titles across genres and imprints. This list celebrates exceptional storytelling and the books that have most resonated with readers and critics alike throughout the year.

We’re thrilled to share Amazon has chosen a Penguin Random House book as their Best Book of the Year: BUCKEYE by Patrick Ryan (Random House). In addition to this top honor, Penguin Random House titles dominated the list, with nine of the top twenty selections, including the top four spots, belonging to our authors and imprints.

Two PYR Titles Win 2025 NYT/NYPL Best Illustrated Children’s Books Awards

WIND WATCHERS by Micha Archer (Nancy Paulsen Books) and MAKING ART by Diana Ejaita (RISE x Penguin Workshop) have won 2025 New York Times / New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Book Awards. The two titles were named among ten total winners and chosen on the basis of artistic merit.

Random House Children’s Books to Acquire Cherry Lake Publishing Group

Sleeping Bear Press, Tilbury House, and Other Cherry Lake Imprints to Join Random House Children’s Books, Maintaining Distinct Identities and Leadership.

Random House Children’s Books (RHCB), a division of Penguin Random House, today, November 11, 2025, announced its acquisition of Cherry Lake Publishing Group, a leading independent children’s publisher known for its high-quality trade, library, and educational titles with deep roots in Michigan and the entire Great Lakes region.

The announcement was made by Mallory Loehr, President and Publisher, Random House Children’s Books, and Ben Mondloch, President and Owner, Cherry Lake Publishing Group. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Continue reading →

Penguin Random House Audio’s 2026 GRAMMY® Nominees: Trevor Noah and Ketanji Brown Jackson

Penguin Random House Audio’s 2026 GRAMMY® Nominees!

Trevor Noah’s INTO THE UNCUT GRASS and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s LOVELY ONE audiobooks have earned 2026 GRAMMY® Award nominations in the Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording category. Both recordings are read by the authors and published by Penguin Random House Audio.

The nominations were announced on November 7 by the Recording Academy®. The 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards® will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Our titles have previously earned 19 GRAMMYs®, including the 2024 Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording winner, Michelle Obama’s THE LIGHT WE CARRY and 56 additional GRAMMY® nominations.
