Penguin Random House was back at San Diego Comic-Con this year and proved a huge success. Comic-Con attendees were captivated by our romance, fantasy, graphic novels, horror, and fiction titles; best of all, they wanted to discover our new releases!  

All book sales went through our indie bookstore partner, Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore! We reached record sales driven by Con Editions, author signings, and favorite brands. Our fantastic booth staff worked tirelessly to pitch books and make personalized book recommendations for our customers, which led to a successful show and to selling out many of our titles! Pathfinding Former Doubleday & Crown Editor-in-Chief Betty Prashker Dies at 99

We remember Betty Prashker. The pioneering woman editor in the then male-dominated publishing community of the late twentieth century, died on July 30 at her daughter’s home in the Berkshires. She was 99.

During her half-century career, she was an associate publisher at Doubleday, and in 1982, became editor-in-chief of the Crown Publishing Group. Continue reading →

Penguin Random House has partnered with James Baldwin family to launch The James Baldwin Award for Fiction, a creative writing award for fiction for public high school students, in honor of the 100th birthday of the literary legend and civil rights champion.
