Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) on September 8 has been celebrated annually around the globe. The aim of ILD is to promote the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society. At the forefront of our social impact commitments are programs offering books to people in communities where few are available.
