Jamie Lee Curtis to Publish Children’s Book with Penguin Young Readers in 2024

Last week, Jamie Lee Curtis, Academy Award winning actress and New York Times bestselling author will reunite with illustrator Laura Cornell on new children’s book JUST ONE MORE SLEEP (Philomel Books), coming January 2024. The children’s picture book is a celebration of delayed gratification and it serves as new self-help book for kids that explains why waiting can be wonderful—and can give you a reason to cheer all year round, from New Year’s Day to Kwanzaa, and all the holidays in between.

4 PRH Titles Make Barack Obama’s 2023 Summer Reading List

Just last week, Barack Obama released his 2023 Summer Read List. As book banning continues across the country, Obama also penned a letter to librarians thanking them for defending the right to read. PRH Supports Student-Led Pride Event at New College of Florida

In May, Penguin Random House donated over 150 LGBTQ+ books across eleven divisions for a student-led Pride event at the New College of Florida. If the name of the school sounds familiar, it may be because New College has been in the news recently. It’s currently a site where partisan politics and educational freedom are clashing in a way that’s not unrelated to the wave of book banning we’ve been seeing throughout the nation. On its campus, Florida’s Governor DeSantis recently signed S.B. 266 into law while student activists protested outside. As a result of the recent appointments by Gov. DeSantis to the New College Board of Trustees in support of his views, students have been restricted in the kinds of activities they can do with school funds—including DEI and LGBTQ events like Pride.

Tomorrow is July 21st, which means Barbenheimer is upon us!

If this sounds new to you, The New York Times explained the cultural phenomenon as: “Fans have been waiting for this summer’s release of two movies — ‘Barbie,’ from Warner Bros. and directed by Greta Gerwig, and ‘Oppenheimer,’ from Universal Pictures and directed by Christopher Nolan — which are both coming out on July 21, and they have been poking fun at the stark contrast in the movies’ themes, moods and color schemes. PRH Partners with Syracuse Shakespeare-In-The-Park to Promote Literacy

PRH donated copies of the Penguin Classics paperback edition.

Last month, Penguin Random House supported Shakespeare-In-The-Park in Syracuse, N.Y. by donating copies of MERCHANT OF VENICE (Penguin Classics). The theatrical company put on three shows based on the play by William Shakespeare featuring an all-female cast where each attendee received a free book. Continue reading →
