Prime Video Reveals Premiere Date and First Look Image for Butterfly, a TV Series Based on BOOM! Studios’ Title

Prime Video released first look images and teaser art for the upcoming spy-thriller series Butterfly, starring and executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Lost, Hawaii Five-O), and based on the BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel series created by Arash Amel. The series was sold, developed, and produced by BOOM! Studios’ in-house media IP team.

In Chicago on June 14, the nation’s top food authors were honored at the 2025 James Beard Media Awards, presented by Capital One. The Media Awards recognize authors, broadcast producers, hosts, journalists, podcasters, and social media content creators.

The Book Awards are awarded to cookbooks and other nonfiction food- or beverage-related books that were published in the U.S. in 2024.. Congratulations to our six winning Penguin Random House titles!

There’s a Book for That: Juneteenth

“Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory or an acceptance of the way things are. It’s a celebration of progress. It’s an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible—and there is still so much work to do.”—Barack Obama

This Thursday, June 19, we celebrate Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas announcing that the Civil War was over, and slavery abolished. A holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved became an official federal holiday in 2021 when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act. Penguin Random House, closed Thursday in observance of the holiday, publishes the following excellent books for adults and young readers that honor the occasion:

Pride Month Author Interview: A Conversation With Nicola Dinan

Nicola Dinan

Nicola Dinan grew up in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur and now lives in London. BELLIES, her debut, won the Polari First Book Prize, was shortlisted for the Diverse Book Awards and Mo Siewcharran Prize, was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award, and was longlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize and Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize. Her latest novel, DISSAPOINT ME, was recently published by The Dial Press.

Edmund White, PRH’s Groundbreaking Author, Dies at 85

Edmund White, a groundbreaking author who was a pioneer of gay literature, died at 85. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1940. His fiction included the autobiographical trilogy A BOY’S OWN STORY, THE BEAUTIFUL ROOM IS EMPTY, and THE FAREWELL SYMPHONY, as well as CARACOLE, FORGETTING ELENA, NOCTURNES FOR THE KING OF NAPLES, and SKINNED ALIVE, a collection of short stories.
