Celebrate National Poetry Month, Sign Up for Knopf’s “Poem a Day”

The Academy of American Poets officially designated April as National Poetry Month beginning in 1996. This annual celebration highlights the extraordinary legacy and ongoing achievement of American poets while marking poetry’s important place in our culture and everyday lives.

Since its founding in 1915, Knopf has published some of the finest poets of all time. You are invited to celebrate this tradition by signing up for Knopf’s Poem-A-Day program. Penguin Random House and the American Library Association (ALA) have announced the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library as the 2021 winner of the ALA’s Penguin Random House Library Award for Innovation. The award recognizes U.S. libraries and librarians who create lasting innovative community service programs that successfully inspire and connect with new readers. Penguin Random House Supports New Mental Health Initiative for Young New Yorkers

Penguin Random House has partnered with The Mayor’s Office of ThriveNYC and NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) to launch Pathways to Wellbeing,” a partnership that provides new mental health libraries in all five boroughs, which will include books written by young authors of color, at ten of the City’s Cornerstone Community Centers in New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)developments.

The initiative also includes mental health training for all Cornerstone staff and will increase community-based pathways to mental health support for youth and young adults.

All 10 new mental health libraries will have access to books published by Penguin Random House and written for young adults that explore mental health challenges in their writing, including:
