There’s a Book for That: Women’s History Month

Welcome March and Women’s History Month. In 1987, Congress designated the month of March “Women’s History Month.” While women’s rights and issues have continued to see progress, there is more to do. Three PRH Authors Shortlisted for 2020 Lukas Book Prize

Of the five authors shortlisted for this year’s J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize, three are published by Penguin Random House imprints. This prestigious award – sponsored by the Nieman Foundation and Columbia Journalism School – recognizes outstanding nonfiction books that highlight issues of political or social concern in the U.S. The winner receives a $10,000 prize.

PEN America, the U.S. chapter of the world’s leading international literary-human rights organization, announced the winners of its annual Literary Awards last night, March 2, at a ceremony in Manhattan. Yiyun Li won the 2020 PEN/Jean Stein Book Award for her novel, WHERE REASONS END, published by Random House in February 2019.

PRH Imprints Publish 5 of 13 International Booker Prize Longlisted Titles

The 2020 International Booker Prize longlist has been announced, and five of its thirteen titles have been published, or are forthcoming, from Penguin Random House imprints in the U.S. and the U.K. The prize annually awards one author and their translator £50,000 for their outstanding work of fiction. The shortlist for the prize will be announced on April 2, and the winner on May 19.
