Recommend your Favorite Books & Celebrate the Potential of Young People with “Matilda’s Reading List”

This October, Penguin Young Readers and The Roald Dahl Story Company will launch “Matilda’s Reading List,” an opportunity for readers across the U.S. to share their reading recommendations with Matilda, Roald Dahl’s iconic book worm and star of the new film Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, adapted from the 2011 Tony and Olivier award–winning musical, premiering worldwide on Netflix December 25, 2022. “Matilda’s Reading List” aims to celebrate diverse new voices that embrace Matilda’s timeless messages of literacy and bravery.

Penguin Random House Partners with Reading is Fundamental for “Rally to Read 100”

Penguin Random House is partnering with Reading is Fundamental (RIF) on their second annual Rally to Read 100 (RallytoRead.org)—a six-month initiative that runs from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 designed to motivate children to read, starting with a pledge to read 100 books. Random House Children’s Books Partners with Ebony Jr. Brand

Random House Children’s Books will publish a new line of books within the Little Golden Books imprint, in partnership with Ebony Media Publishing’s Ebony Jr. imprint, as announced today by Sonali Fry, Vice President & Co-Publisher, Crown BFYR, and Vice President & Publisher, Little Golden Books and Sesame Street. The books will be packaged by Lavette Books and written and illustrated by Black creators. Titles will be geared toward children ages 2 to 5 and include nonfiction and fiction.

PRH and Latinx KidLit Book Festival Partner to Celebrate Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebration of Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month, Penguin Random House is partnering with The Latinx KidLit Book Festival to launch a special fund dedicated to connecting Latinx authors and illustrators with students through virtual school visits open to K-12 only. Title 1 schools and schools with a 50% or greater Latinx student population will receive priority.

Penguin Random House & Kundiman Launch Publishing Panels for Asian American Writers

As part of our ongoing partnership with Kundiman, an organization dedicated to nurturing generations of writers and readers of Asian American Literature, Penguin Random House is excited to sponsor a series of free publishing panels for Asian American writers. The series will include three free publishing panels featuring, respectively, Asian American editors, agents, and publicists, hosted by Kundiman staff. Each session will last 90 minutes.
