The 50th NAACP Image Awards were revealed on Saturday, March 30, in Los Angeles, with books by Penguin Random House authors Michelle Obama, Jacqueline Woodson and Daymond John among the winners. The NAACP Image Awards are considered the preeminent multicultural awards show celebrating the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. Riverhead Table took a dramatic turn last week, when award-winning chef Evan Hanczor created a 10-course meal inspired by Marlon James’s New York Times-bestselling novel, BLACK LEOPARD, RED WOLF. Tickets to the event at Egg Restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn were sold out, with an extensive waiting list. Appetizers included dates and spiced nuts in medieval pouches, followed by increasingly outlandish dishes: raw goat, alligator, antelope, and more. Penguin Random House Acquires UK-Based Children’s Publisher Little Tiger Group

Penguin Random House, the world’s largest trade book publisher, is expanding its international leading position in the children’s book market with its purchase of Little Tiger Group (LTG), the London-based publisher and packager of acclaimed and bestselling children’s books, from birth to young adults.
