Westover, Orange ABA Indies Choice & Woodson Indie Champion Award Winners, Our Two New Picture Book Hall of Famers

The American Booksellers Association (ABA) has announced the winners of the 2019 Indies Choice, E.B. White Read Aloud, and Indie Champion Awards. Our authors received two Indies Choice Awards, determined by independent booksellers from ABA member stores, selecting their favorite titles published last year, and casting their votes via online balloting. These booksellers also chose an Indie Champion Award and three new inductees into the Picture Book Hall of Fame, including two of our classic young readers titles. All prizes and honors will be presented and celebrated on Thursday, May 30, at the ABA Indies Choice Awards ceremony at BookExpo 2019 at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. Continue reading →

Publication of Amélie Wen Zhao’s BLOOD HEIR Set for This Fall

Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish BLOOD HEIR, the first volume in Amélie Wen Zhao’s debut young adult fantasy trilogy, on November 19, 2019 with a hardcover first printing of 150,000 copies, it was announced by Delacorte Press SVP & Publisher Beverly Horowitz. Random House to Publish THE BEAUTIFUL ONES by Prince This Fall

Random House is thrilled to announce the publication on October 29, 2019, of THE BEAUTIFUL ONES by Prince, the American artistic visionary—singer, songwriter, musician, producer, actor, and filmmaker. Originally acquired from Prince in 2016, this newly envisioned memoir will feature never-before-seen photos, original scrapbooks and lyric sheets written in Prince’s own hand, and the early pages of the memoir Prince began writing before his death, framed by an introduction from Dan Piepenbring, the writer handpicked by Prince to collaborate on this project. World rights were acquired by Chris Jackson from Esther Newberg and Dan Kirschen at ICM Partners. The memoir is being published in an exclusive partnership and in collaboration with the Prince Estate. Continue reading →
