Our ’22 Hugo Awards Finalists Led by Andy Weir’s PROJECT HAIL MARY

Finalists for the 2022 Hugo Awards have been announced and include titles published by Penguin Random House imprints and PRHPS client publishers. The Hugo Awards, considered the most prestigious awards for the science fiction and fantasy genres, recognize media, literature, editors, artists, and fan activities. The winners of his year’s Hugos will be presented on Sunday, September 4, in Chicago, during a ceremony at Chicon 8, the 80th World Science Fiction Convention. Continue reading →

Random House and Sugar23 to Launch Co-Branded Imprint, Sugar23 Books

Random House and Sugar23, the management and creative content platform, have jointly announced the establishment of a co–branded publishing imprint, Sugar23 Books. Under the co-venture, book properties will be acquired, developed, and published in partnership with Sugar23 and the portfolio of imprints across the Random House division. Olga Tokarczuk’s THE BOOKS OF JACOB Shortlisted for 2022 International Booker Prize

The six-title shortlist for the 2022 International Booker Prize includes THE BOOKS OF JACOB, written by Olga Tokarczuk, translated by Jennifer Croft, and published by Riverhead in the U.S. and Canada. Actor/Producer Omar Epps to Publish Afro-Futurist YA Series With RHCB

Actor and producer Omar Epps (This Is Us, House, Juice, Shooter) will publish his debut novel, NUBIA: THE AWAKENING, with Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, it was announced by Beverly Horowitz, Senior VP & Publisher. The book will be the first in a young adult series coauthored with Clarence Haynes about three teens, the children of refugees from a fallen African utopia, who develop powers they must use to navigate a climate-ravaged New York City. Horowitz and Krista Marino, VP & Senior Executive Editor, acquired world rights for the series from Todd Shuster and Erica Bauman at Aevitas Creative Management. Marino will edit the series. NUBIA: THE AWAKENING is scheduled to release on November 8, 2022. Continue reading →
