Fatima Farheen Mirza’s A PLACE FOR US a Finalist for “One Book, One New York”

The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment has announced the finalists for the 2019 “One Book, One New York” campaign, the exciting citywide initiative that brings book-loving New Yorkers together to read the same book at the same time. Now in its third year, in partnership with BuzzFeed Book Club, and coinciding with Women’s History Month, “One Book, One New York” features five acclaimed books, all written by women, including Fatima Farheen Mirza’s A PLACE FOR US (SJP for Hogarth, paperback edition on sale now). Binc Foundation and Penguin Random House Launch New Grant Program, INDIES WITH IMPACT

The Binc Foundation and Penguin Random House have announced INDIES WITH IMPACT, a new grant opportunity open to independent bookstores. Two grants will be awarded to two bookstores that work in tandem with a community nonprofit or organization of their choice for a program that strengthens their local communities and encourages a passion for reading. DR. SEUSS’S HORSE MUSEUM — New Dr. Seuss Book to be Published by RHCB This Fall

A new Dr. Seuss children’s book about creating and experiencing art will be published by Random House Children’s Books on September 3, 2019, with a first printing of 250,000 copies, it was announced today by Mallory Loehr, SVP, Publisher, Random House Books for Young Readers, and Susan Brandt, President, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P. Our 5 Winners of 2019 PEN America Literary Awards

PEN America, the U.S. chapter of the world’s leading international literary-human rights organization, celebrated the winners of its 2019 Literary Awards last night, February 26, at a Manhattan ceremony. Will Mackin’s short story collection, published by Random House, and three titles published by Penguin Random House Publisher Services publisher clients, took home prizes. Vintage author Sandra Cisneros was presented with the PEN/Nabokov Award for Achievement in International Literature.

Our 5 Finalists for 2019 Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards

The Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader have announced the finalists for the 12th annual Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards, the only national book awards voted on entirely by children and teens. Five of the nominated titles are published by Penguin Random House imprints or Penguin Random House Publisher Services clients. The three categories of children’s finalists were chosen in pre-voting by kids in different regions of the U.S., with supervision by the International Literacy Association.
