NCTE Creates Book Rationale Database With PRH Education Grant

Penguin Random House Education and the National Council of Teachers of English have announced a new initiative to digitize the Book Rationale Database on NCTE’s Intellectual Freedom Center website. While NCTE has always shared rationales with members, this is the first time that the book rationales will be available digitally. Knopf to Publish Two New Novels by Cormac McCarthy This Fall

This fall, Alfred A. Knopf will publish two new novels by Cormac McCarthy. The announcement was made by Reagan Arthur, Knopf EVP and Publisher. Rights to the works were sold by Amanda Urban at ICM Partners. In addition to the U.S., the new books will be published in the UK (Picador), Spain (Literatura Random House), Holland (Arbeiderspers), Germany (Rowohlt), Italy (Einaudi), France (Editions de l’Olivier), Sweden (Bonniers), Norway (Gyldendal), Denmark (Gyldendal), Finland (WSOY), and Brazil (Companhia). In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the United Nations day for women’s rights and world peace.
