PRH Recruitment Outreach and Partnerships Team Talks Breaking Into Publishing

In Updates from HR’s Recruitment Outreach and Partnerships Team, one big effort for 2022 has been to enhance our employer brand presence on social media to help draw in more candidates from different backgrounds and to supply information to make the publishing industry more accessible to all. On our Careers Instagram, we have reached over 20k accounts, increased our follower count by 10% in just a few months and are continuing to grow consistently. Knopf to Celebrate the Life of Joan Didion at a Public Service on 9/21

There will be a celebration of the life of Joan Didion on Wednesday, September 21 in New York at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue. The speakers will include Hilton Als, Gov. Jerry Brown, Griffin Dunne, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Susanna Moore, Vanessa Redgrave, David Remnick, Patti Smith, Jia Tolentino, Calvin Trillin, and Kevin Young. ‘Seven Empty Houses’ and ‘The Books of Jacob’ NBA 2022 PRH Translated Semi-Finalists; Cortez, Olds Longlisted for Poetry

Following the September 14 presentation of the Young People’s Literature long list, the National Book Foundation serially spotlighted its 2022 semi-finalists in Translated Literature (September 14) and Poetry (September 15), two categories of both past triumph and disappointment for us. Rock N’ Read: Penguin Random House Was Back at AFROPUNK

Afropunk Rock N’ Read presented by All Ways Black Tent.

Penguin Random House had a big presence at this past weekend’s AFROPUNK, September 10-11, at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn.

One of the most respected and appreciated signifiers from the National Book Foundation (NBF) is its bestowal of equal, prominent stature upon each of the five National Book Award categories it sponsors.

This annual tradition happily continues for the 2022 prize season, as the judges’ semi-finalist picks for Young People’s Literature, Translated Literature, Poetry, Nonfiction, and Fiction, once again will be presented individually and consecutively the mornings and afternoons of September 14 and 15, and concluding the morning of the 16th.
