PRH & PYR Donate 10,000 Books to Local Teacher on TODAY Show Teacher Appreciation Segment

As part of the “TODAY Celebrates Teachers” series on the TODAY Show yesterday, Penguin Random House and Penguin Young Readers collectively donated 10,000 books to support Virginia fifth-grade teacher Jenny Williams. Berkley Author Mia P. Manansala Wins Agatha Award for Best First Novel

Mia P. Manansala’s Berkley debut, ARSENIC AND ADOBO, won this year’s Agatha Award for Best First Novel. Handed out annually by Malice Domestic, the Agatha Awards, named for Agatha Christie, are literary awards for mystery writers in the cozy mystery subgenre. Anchor to Publish Bestselling YA Author Nicola Yoon’s First Novel for Adults in 2024

Anchor Books will publish #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicola Yoon’s first novel for adults, ONE OF OUR KIND, in 2024. The announcement was made by Anchor Books EVP, Publisher Suzanne Herz. US rights were acquired from Jodi Reamer, Senior Agent at Writers House Literary Agency in a heated auction. R.I.P: 60s, 70s Bantam Sales Head Lou Satz, 94

Lou Satz, whose driving sales leadership for such reprint titles as THE EXORCIST, ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, and JAWS helped position Bantam Books as a twentieth-century mass-market paperback publishing powerhouse, died of natural causes on April 9 in Seattle, at 94, nineteen days shy of his 95th birthday. The PRH Education Team Launches Its New Translanguaging Collections

Penguin Random House Education is thrilled to announce the launch of the new PRH Education Translanguaging Collections: Affirming Bilingual and Multilingual Learners! Translanguaging invites students to use their own experiences and languages to make connections and deepen their engagement with texts and people in their lives. We have partnered with educators Drs. Luz Yadira Herrera and Carla España to create these new collections for Kindergarten through 12^th grade that carefully consider how we are validating and supporting bilingualism and multilingualism in our learning communities. The collections grew out of Carla and Luz’s love for children’s literature, teachers that celebrate their students, and honoring the ways that children navigate their expanding language repertoires both in and out of the classroom.
