Riverhead to Publish 3 Novels by Nobel Literature Laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah

Riverhead Books has acquired United States rights to AFTERLIVES by Abdulrazak Gurnah, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature. Gurnah is the author of nine previous novels, including Paradise (shortlisted for the Booker Prize), By the Sea (longlisted for the Booker Prize and shortlisted for the LA Times Book Award), and Desertion (originally published by Pantheon and reprinted by Anchor). Born and raised in Zanzibar, he is Professor Emeritus of English and Postcolonial Literatures at the University of Kent; he lives in Canterbury, England. Continue reading →

In honor of Penguin Random House’s global publication of RENEGADES: Born in the USA, a collection of conversations between Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, and legendary musician Bruce Springsteen, Penguin Random House is making a financial donation to the Obama Foundation’s youth leadership programs, expanding upon the company’s earlier donation of one million children’s books to First Book in the Obama family name. Knopf to Publish Selma Blair’s Memoir in April 2022

Next April, Alfred A. Knopf will publish MEAN BABY by Selma Blair, a memoir about her childhood, her career as an actress and model, her struggles with addiction, the traumas she endured, her diagnosis and life with multiple sclerosis (and advocacy for others living with MS), and the joy and solace she found in becoming a parent. The book will be published in hardcover and eBook by Knopf. Penguin Random House Audio will publish an audiobook edition of MEAN BABY, narrated by the author. The announcement was made by Reagan Arthur, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Knopf. The book has been edited by Jennifer Jackson, Vice President and Executive Editor, who acquired the book from Brettne Bloom and Julie Barer at The Book Group. Continue reading →
