DK Unveils Anthony Daniels’ Memoir, I AM C-3PO: The Inside Story at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels (best known as the golden droid, C-3PO) revealed the title and jacket of his upcoming memoir, I AM C-3PO: The Inside Story in the DK booth at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on Saturday, April 13. With help from Penguin Random House colleagues, an in-booth photo op with 100 eager fans, and many more on-lookers, followed the reveal. Random House to Publish THE BEAUTIFUL ONES by Prince This Fall

Random House is thrilled to announce the publication on October 29, 2019, of THE BEAUTIFUL ONES by Prince, the American artistic visionary—singer, songwriter, musician, producer, actor, and filmmaker. Originally acquired from Prince in 2016, this newly envisioned memoir will feature never-before-seen photos, original scrapbooks and lyric sheets written in Prince’s own hand, and the early pages of the memoir Prince began writing before his death, framed by an introduction from Dan Piepenbring, the writer handpicked by Prince to collaborate on this project. World rights were acquired by Chris Jackson from Esther Newberg and Dan Kirschen at ICM Partners. The memoir is being published in an exclusive partnership and in collaboration with the Prince Estate. Continue reading →

Five of Our Authors on TIME 100 List

Five authors published by Penguin Random House are on the 16^th annual TIME 100 Most Influential People List: Michelle Obama, among the Icons, as well as Marlon James, Samin Nosrat , Chrissy Teigen and Tara Westover, among the Pioneers. The 2019 honorees were revealed late last week and are featured in TIME magazine’s April 29 – May 6 double-issue print edition. The TIME 100 gala takes place on Tuesday, April 23, in New York City. Friday Reads: Library of America

On April 12^th, Library of America (LOA), a Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS) client, was honored at The Los Angeles Times Book Prizes ceremony with Los Angeles Times’ Innovator’s Award for bringing cultural heritage “into the future.”

Since 1980, the Los Angeles Times has awarded a set of annual Book Prizes that include the Innovator’s Award, which recognizes the people and institutions that bring books, publishing, journalism, ideas and storytelling into the future. LOA joins such recent recipients as Margaret Atwood, John Green, Dave Eggers, LeVar Burton, Powell’s Bookstore, and Glory Edim of Well-Read Black Girl, among others.
