Amid the celebration of Doubleday’s 125th anniversary, sadly, we also commemorate the passing of an author and publishing colleague, who was a contributor to its success.
Thomas Cahill, one-time director of the imprint’s eponymous vaunted religious publishing program, and the author of the Nan A. Talese imprint’s bestselling multi-volume “Hinges of History” series, died at 82 on October 18 in Manhattan. Continue reading →

The organization has been distinguished three times by the White House as one of the nation’s top after school programs, and twice by the Nonprofit Excellence Awards as one of New York City’s top ten nonprofits.

PRH India Celebrates 35 Years with Anniversary Collector’s Editions, Treasure Hunts, and More

This year, Penguin Random House India turns 35! Join them in celebrating over three decades of discovering and amplifying Indian and South Asian voices, which has transformed PRH India into the most iconic and leading publisher in the country.

PRH India launched in 1987 with just six titles, and today their publishing list features over 3,000 titles. They’ve also introduced over 50,000 international titles to India for local readers to enjoy. Their list is award-winning and includes international recognition such as the Booker International Prize and the Booker Prize for Fiction nomination.

Gaurav Shrinagesh, CEO PRH India & SEA, thoughtfully explained “When you see India’s literary history, 35 may not seem like such a grand milestone. But it is indeed a proud moment for Penguin to have been able to succeed in adding value to a country as diverse and multicultural as ours.”

The celebration is marked by campaigns, exclusive collector’s series, and community giving projects, such as:

#BookedByPenguin is on various social media platforms and celebrates with contests and giveaways.
A social media treasure hunt, powered by a collaboration with non-profit initiative “Books on the Dehli Metro”, doles out hints online for followers to find free books on the metro, in real life.
Exclusive anniversary edition series have launched with attractive and emblematic covers, available online from November onwards.
10,000 books were donated through several partners. “The Community Library Project” is connecting these books with first-generation readers and those who do not have easy access to books.
